Hills are Alive # 9

On September 20, the Hills (not to mention the Valleys, Plains and everything in between) will be alive again with the sound of music.
The Rocky Hill Musical Theatre Company is proud to present another Hills Are Alive night. These nights are an opportunity for people to gather together and enjoy performing and listening to songs from musicals, whether you are a part of the RHMTC or not.
As with the previous nights, Hills Are Alive #9 will consist of two sets of around 10 songs each, to be followed by an open mic by request section.
For the first time, we will be using the Goulburn Rugby Clubhouse on Addison Street as a venue. As this is also a fund-raiser for the RHMTC, we appreciate donations at the door. Further details about food at the venue will be confirmed in coming weeks.
We invite everyone to sing, and we invite everyone to come and listen. So if you have a song in your heart and want to share it, or if you want to hear some of Goulburn’s best singers, see you at Hills are Alive #9.
Phil Fraser has offered to bring up his Kawai ES6 Electric Piano, and he has offered that others can use it too. You CAN bring other keyboards but for simplicity of performance and less down time, it might be easier to use just the one keyboard. If you wish to have an accompanist, you need to line up your own. At previous Hills are Alive nights, many/most performers have opted to use a backing track via their smartphone.
The canteen at the club house will be serving food and drinks from 6pm until we get started at 7.30pm, and then during the break between sets, and the break between the second set and open mic. As a licenced venue you are not legally allowed to bring your own alcohol and will be asked to leave if you do. The menu at this stage includes:
– Trappers pies
– Trappers sausage rolls
– Sausage sandwiches
– Steak sandwiches
– Pumpkin soup
– Egg and bacon pies
– Chips and lollies
– Soft drinks
– Beer
– Wine
– Coffee, tea,condiments
